Diversified Chiropractic Manipulation This spinal adjusting technique is quite common in chiropractic.  Small impulses are used in specific vectors to realign the joints of the body.  This can be done on any joint in the body.  This technique produces the “crack” noise.  The “crack” is not actually a crack at all. It is a release of pressure that has been built up in a joint.  This pressure can come from abnormal movement that causes the joint to become strained.  This straining increases the cellular activity within a joint and therefore increases cellular by-products.  When these by-products are liberated the “pop” or “crack” noise can be heard.

Flexion-Distraction Technique This table-assisted technique has been scientifically proven effective for the treatment of disc lesions.  This is a gentle technique that gaps the joints in the low back to decrease the pressure placed on the injured discs.  The position on the table often creates immediate relief.   When a person is in severe acute pain this technique is well tolerated.

Sacral Occipital Technique This technique uses the rhythm of the sacrum and base of the skull to restore proper spinal motion.  One form of SOT uses wedges to create fulcrums in the pelvis to allow the body’s weight and gravity to realign the spine.  This technique is great for pregnant women and those in need of gentle coaxing into alignment.

Thompson Drop Technique This table assisted technique uses very low force to create an adjustment by allowing the table to drop one to two inches while the segment being treated is held.  It is comfortable and easy on the patient.  This technique can be used on both adults and children.

Nimmo Trigger Point Receptor This soft tissue technique is based on the work of Jane Travell.  Areas of muscular contraction can produce pain that refers to other areas of the body.  Some consider this a massage technique that is targeted to the involved tissues and uses combinations of static pressure and sweeping glides over certain points to interrupt the aberrant signal.

Cranial Sacral Fascial Therapy   This technique, taken from Dr. Barry Gillespie’s Brian Therapy, focuses on the connective tissue that surrounds every organ, muscle, ligament and cell of your body.  Although it is a very large network, it is often overlooked.  Scarring and torquing of the tissue from trauma can result in long term dysfunction.  Often times, conditions that do not respond to traditional joint mobilization and massage respond very well to fascial release.  it is gentle and well tolerated by most people.

Cold Laser Therapy  A FDA approved Erchonia laser is used as the modality of choice to increase rate of healing and reduce pain.  It is painless and extremely safe and effective.  it is the only laser on the market that has been scientifically proven in double blind randomized studies to be effective in pain control and increasing range of motion.  it works by stimulating the body on a cellular level.  This is the gold standard for healing.  Professional athletes from Lance Armstrong to Terrell Owens use this device to recover from injuries and maintain peak performance. These same lasers can be found in the training rooms for the Olympic Games and professional sports teams. For the science behind the laser check out the research on this site.

Brain Balancing  Determination of improper communication between the right and left hemispheres of the brain is done through a series of motor and cognitive tests.  If an imbalance is found, treatment for that day is geared toward correcting the imbalance, as it is fundamental to health and healing.

Meridian Therapy  This is acupuncture without needles.  The principles of acupuncture are used to free up electrical pathways using electrical stimulation and laser.  This technique works great on children and adults who have apprehension about needles.  Dr. Griffin received accreditation from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncturists in 2000.

Reconnective Healing  This is a form of energy transference that uses frequency and vibration to balance and harmonize the body.

๏ Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS ) is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. These devices are utilized to provide relief by sending comforting, non-painful impulses through the skin to the nerves. This electronic stimulation often reduces or eliminates the pain that an individual feels due to a acute or chronic pain.
